Wells, Stephens To Wed May 20Published Wednesday, March 22, 2000 in the Gurdon TimesShanna Wells and Paul Stephens, both of Gurdon, will be united in matrimony by Bro. Steve Stephens on Saturday, May 20, at 2:00 p.m. at the Sycamore Baptist Church in Beirne. The bride is the daughter of Jerry and Betty Burns of Gurdon and the late Jewell Wells. She is the granddaughter of the late Morgan and Maggie Wells, the late Doyle and Ruby Brown, and the late Emmet and Martella Burns, all of Gurdon. Miss Wells is a 1996 honor graduate of Gurdon High School and a member of the Red Springs Baptist Church. While attending Southern Arkansas University, she was a member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority and was on the dean's list. Currently, Shanna is attending the University of Arkansas at Monticello and is pursuing a bachelor of science degree in psychology. She will graduate next year in May. The groom is the son of Steve and Janice Stephens, formerly of Gurdon. Mr. Stephens is the grandson of Sarah Stephens of Gurdon and the late Barney Stephens and Opie and Ruby Hefner of Conway. Paul is a 1995 graduate of Gurdon High School and a 1999 graduate of University of Arkansas at Monticello. While there Stephens was a member of the Forestry Club and received a bachelor of science degree in forestry. Currently, Stephens is an employee of the Price Companies in Monticello. Stephens attends Sycamore Baptist Church and is a member of the Society of American Foresters. A reception will follow the ceremony in the fellowship hall.
