Oak Grove

We had a good rain Saturday night. It was really needed. It is time to garden. I am sure everyone has planted something. James Blakely has planted plenty already. James has bought the Tyree and Mary Ann Erby place. He has torn the old house down and is fixing to put up a mobile home. I am sure glad he is moving to Rosston. He is a very smart man. He will help you if he can.

Josie Simpson was at Bethel Sunday. She is on our sick list. She has the faith that nothing is impossible with God. She has a daughter who lives in Rosston.

Alvin Starks from Pine Bluff visited us Saturday afternoon. He finished school at Oak Grove years ago. He says he will never forget Oak Grove. We had some of the best teachers here that you could find. Let's not forget L.W. Johnson, who's put us on the map. He had students coming from everywhere. It was the first credited school around. We never can forget where we came from. Mr. Ead Sanders was one of our bus drivers in 1936 and Lester Blackely drove the Hickory Ridge route.

There will be a women's day program at Cana Sunday, March 19, at 2:30 p.m. with the presiding Elder Rev. Thomas Adair bring the message.

Family and friends day was held at Harrison Chapel Baptist Church Sunday. The pastor from Pleasant Grove brought the church message. Rev. Owen and his choir sang.

Monday was the first day of spring. I am sure the cold weather is over.

Sympathy goes out to all the sick and shut in.
