Johnson Seeks JP Post

Jerry Johnson has announced he will seek election as Justice of the Peace for District 10 on the Clark County Quorum Court.

The district is made up of part of Gurdon, Hollywood, most of Oakland, a small part of Okolona and Gurdon Wards 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6.

Johnson, a Democrat, is the owner of Air Pro Air Conditioning and Heating Services in Arkadelphia and a cattle farmer. Johnson is also a member of the Clark County Industrial Committee, Clark County Fair Board, Clark County Home Builders Association, member of the Masonic Lodge 381, advisor to job shadowing mentors program for the Arkadelphia Public Schools.

He is a veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force and the Arkansas National Guard.

Johnson is a member of Arkansas Heating and Air Conditioners Association board of directors, Tri-Lakes Chapter of Arkansas Heating and Air Contractors, where he served as president of the organization, and a member of the Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Aircraft Owners Pilot Association.

Johnson is a member of the Gurdon Airport Commission. He attends Third Street Baptist Church in Arkadelphia.

He is married to Abby Deaton Johnson. Johnson is a member of the Appeals Board to the City of Arkadelphia.

"I'm looking forward to representing the needs of the people in District 10 and the citizens of Clark County," he said in a prepared statement.
