Monthly Meeting Heldby Women Of The Church Of GodPublished Wednesday, March 15, 2000 in the Gurdon Times The Women of the Church of God met Tuesday, March 7. There were seven people in attendance. They were Thelma Mizell, Doris Vance, Eulah Wilson, Shirley Smithpeters, Vivian Spruill, Janet Toland and Jeannie Burchfield. Eulan Wilson was the hostess and program leader. She prepared a scrumptious dinner for the ladies. Following dinner Mrs. Wilson presented the lesson entitled, "The Heart of a Stranger," part two. Through this lesson the group was taught to understand the admonitions of Christ to care for the refugees (Matt. 22:35-39), to better understand the situation of refugees and formulate a personal response to their plight. Officers were elected this month. They are Janet Toland, president; Vivian Spruill, vice president; Eulah Wilson, treasurer; Doris Vance, secretary; Velvet Gonzales, friendship-enlistment coordinator; Jeannie Burchfield, spiritual life coordinator; and Janet Toland, historian.
