Those planning to attend the annual Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce Banquet need to get their tickets now.

Mary Godwin, executive director of the Chamber, said there has been a good response with advance ticket sales and there is no guarantee any tickets will be available at the door.

Once again, the banquet will be held at the McRae Middle School cafeteria.

Godwin said entertainment for the annual Chamber Banquet is being lined up. The headliner of the evening will be Eric Shipp of Texarkana, who will sing for the audience.

Godwin said anyone planning to make a nomination for Citizen of the Year needs to do it now as time is running out. The deadline for making a nomination is March 8.

Nominations should be made in letter form and include the following criteria: the nominee's service to family, city, county, state, nation, church, fraternal, recreational, industry and education.

This year's theme is "Hitch Your Wagon To Our Rising Star," with dress being casual or western.

For the first time, a buffet line will be used in serving patrons of the banquet.

Godwin said the Chamber is still collecting items for the auction, normally held before the entertainment begins.

Some of the items to be auctioned off include an autographed Razorback football, a smoker and pictures. Godwin said auction items are still being collected.

For more information call the Chamber at 887-2101.
