A domestic argument led to the shooting death of a Rosston man Friday, May 28.

According to Scott Clark, criminal investigator with the Arkansas State Police, Jimmy McKinney, 53, was shot and killed in the fray.

McKinney's wife, Linda, about 45, also of Rosston, has been charged with first degree murder in the case.

Clark said Mrs. McKinney informed officers she and her husband had been arguing, with the argument escalating into an armed confrontation. This, in turn, resulted in Mr. McKinney being shot and killed.

According to the preliminary autopsy report, McKinney was shot three times, causing his death.

Clark received the call about 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 28, concerning the shooting, and arrived at the scene about 45 minutes later.

The victim was flown to St. Michael's Health Center in Texarkana by Air Life, but was pronounced dead at the hospital.

He was apparently shot with a .22 caliber weapon.

Linda McKinney is currently being held in the Nevada County jail on a $100,000 bond.
