Helen Mae Goldsby

Helen Mae Goldsby, 80, of Gurdon died February 3, 2000, at her home.

Mrs. Goldsby was born Sept. 21, 1919, in Gurdon, the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Brown. She was a retired employee of Arkadelphia Human Development Center and a member of New Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Gurdon.

Survivors include her husband, J.C. Goldsby; three sons, Charles Edward Goldsby of Seattle, Wash., Robert Lee Goldsby of Phoenix, Ariz., and Eddie Ray Goldsby of Oak Park, Mich.; a daughter, Carolyn Hill of Gurdon; two brothers, A.B. Brown of Gurdon and Cody Brown of Lexa; three sisters, Everline Wheeler and Roxie Hubbard of St. Louis, Mo., and Katie Hampton of Lexa; and five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Services were held Tuesday, February 8, at New Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Wallace Ingram officiating. Burial was in Rose Hedge Cemetery in Gurdon under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home.
