Church March 13-17 at 7:00 p.m. nightly. Evangelist for the week will be Rev. Quintin Radford, pastor of New Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Gurdon. The bus will leave at 4:00 p.m. each evening going to McGehee. Rev. Williams Caldwell Jr., pastor. Revival services will begin at the Bethel A.M.E. Church of the city on March 29-31 at 7:30 p.m. Everyone and all churches are welcome. Madonna Hays of Hope will be evangelist for three nights. Rev. Betty Gulley, pastor. Fred and Geneva Shells of Little Rock accompanied his mother, Valree Smith to the church anniversary that was held at the St. Clair Baptist Church in Burtsell where their Uncle Joe Welch brought the church history. Floyd and Margree Gatlin of the city are visiting their daughter and granddaughter, Mammie L. Gatlin-Hodge of Houston, Texas. Odessa Hatley is at home and reported to be doing fine. Sis. Christene Hendrix-Beard of Burtsell celebrated with a 90th birthday party Saturday, March 4, at the Gurdon Municipal Building and hosted by her nephews and nieces. Fredrick and Lola Hatley, Sandra Hatley, Bobby and Ruth Ceclius, Annette Keaton, Marsha Hatley, Lisa Simpson, Bernard Hatley and others helped her celebrate. Brothers and sisters in attendance were Fred Hatley, Leonard and Eloise Hatley, Andy and Christene Hatley, Erma Buford, and Jim H. Hatley. Her brother, William, and his wife Candice called from their home in Los Angeles, Calif. Other friends and relatives attending include Vivian Rhinehart, Lee and Sheree Hendrix, Jerine Hatley, Rev. Rufus R. Hatley, Wilma House, Bessie Rogers, Leva Middleton, Maggie Jones, Melvin and Mary Hatley and family, Bobby Ray Collins and family, Bertha Williams, Joe Welch, Rev. Quintin Radford, Lucille Beasley, Melva Jean Williams, her son and grand child, Rose Crow, Karen Harper and sons, Eula F. Quarles, Ruby Allen and granddaughter, Lalah Hendrix, her pastor Rev. L.B. Beard, Eloise Hatley's grandson, little Greg Claybourn, and little Winfred Burton. It was an enjoyable and spiritual occasion, with a buffet, many gifts, cards and speakers presented. Annual women's day will be held at Roanoke Baptist Church in the Greenville community Sunday, March 19. The speaker will be the pastor's wife, Mrs Winfrey of Holly Grove Baptist Church.
