Several seniors, along with Charlotte Shepherd, Clark County coordinator for the senior adult centers, attended Dialogue 2000, on the campus of Ouachita Baptist University Tuesday evening, Feb. 29. The Dialogue 2000 meeting brought together local business and professional leaders, teachers, parents, senior citizens and other interested individuals communicated to identify important issues, the actions the community will take to eliminate poverty and its consequences locally.

The Gurdon senior adults attending were Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Stafford, Mr. and Mrs. Doug Quillen, Dr. and Mrs. George Peeples, Eulah Wilson and myself.

Arkadelphia seniors attending were Ross and Frances Brewer, Chris Sorrell and Virginia Smith.

We enjoyed Nutrition Week, Feb. 28 through March 3 with Dr. Barbara Holt, along with her assistants, coming to visit. We learned many tips on how to prepare and keep the food we buy and eat.

This week we play bingo, have singing, go shopping and the square dancers will entertain on Friday.

National Park Medical Center will be at the center on Thursday, March 9, for blood pressure and blood sugar tests to be given.

We have lots of activities planned for next week. Come and join us.

The center is a program of Central Arkansas Development Council and a United Way agency.
