Workshops Set For Teachers At UACCH

'Teaching and Learning into the New Millennium' will be this year's theme at the second annual Focus on Learning conference at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope to be held Friday, March 3.

Educators from institutions of higher learning throughout the state will be present seminars to prepare instructors and students for the challenges of the new century.

Topics, such as 'Statistics: Teaching and Learning by Electronic Mail,' 'Creating and Using Web Interactive Databases in Classes, Administration and Research,' and 'A Poor Man's Approach to Distance Education' will be presented, as well as more traditional subjects such as 'Hey, Aristotle, Teach Us to Write,' and 'The Play's the Thing.'

The public is invited to attend the free seminars from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.


The UACCH student government association will also be presenting The Rhino Lady on Wednesday, March 8.

Get ready to laugh, be entertained and inspired as The Rhino Lady, Dr. Beth Morris Higgs, shares 'Rhinocerology' philosophy of life at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope.

In topics such as 'The study of How to Make It Through the Jungle of Life Without Being Eaten Alive,' Dr. Beth focuses on the functional tools necessary to achieve success in life.

Admission is free and the public is invited to enjoy the "rhino way of thinking" in UACCH's auditorium from 11:00 to 12:30. A reception will follow in the UACCH Student Center.
