Last week's news:

Sunday guests at Maxine and J.W.'s house were Liz Nunn, Shuntelle Bennett, Tracy and Marsha Bennett, Barb and Tom Cornelius, Tony and Kim Overton, Al Formby, Aaron Morton, Cody Jackson, Pat, Tim and Leah McCullough, Pam Cleveland, and Karen, Sarah and Jason Jobe.

Lucy, J.W. and Maxine Glass had supper at Western Sizzlin with the other Glass family members and friends at their monthly gathering.

Waunita White missed church Sunday because she was sick.

Kenny and Jane Wilkerson visited our church Sunday. Kenny and Bro. Tal Webb brought special music, which we all certainly enjoyed. We appreciate the other visitors, too.

Anita Joyce Wicker was feeling better Sunday. She fell Sunday of last week, cut a gash in her head and had be be rushed to the emergency room. She is okay now.

Lane Mayo was on the ailing list last week and this week his little brother, Caney Hicks, is on the ailing list. Hope they are all feeling better.

My daughter, Phyllis Stewart, and I visited April Stewart in Little Rock Friday night. We came home Saturday in time to go by Bismarck for the Prescott-Mena senior girls game.

Bro. Tal Webb and Krista also went to the game.

Wednesday evening will be our weekly Bible study. Cannon Callicott will direct in absence of Bro. Tal. Bro. Tal will be in a revival in Ruston, La.. We will also be having our fourth Thursday singing.

It is amazing how they started this country in 1776 without federal matching funds.

This week's news:

Sorry our Caney news got lost in the shuffle last week, but it was in the Picayune office on time.

My sister, Pauline Blevins, of Nubbin Hill and I spent Monday and Tuesday nights in Delight with our sister, Edith May, and her husband. Our brother, Joe Baker, and his wife Katie of Camo, Texas, were also visiting. We had such a enjoyable time. We visited the Diamond Mine and the KA-DO-WA Indian burial ground and the Brock Town Cemetery, where our Grandpa Box was buried, and the Delight Cemetery, where our mother's Grandpa Conaster was buried. We also made a quick trip to Little Rock to meet and visit with Katie's sister.

Gerald Overton was buried in Caney Cemetery Friday. He passed away Wednesday.

Ann Loe spent part of last week in the hospital in Hope. She was unable to be in church Sunday, but was feeling much better.

Jerry Don Wicker was on the sick list Sunday.

Bobby Lunsford visited his doctor in Little Rock last week and got a good report.

Morris Baptist Church had services with patients of Hillcrest Sunday afternoon.

Cannon Callicott taught our Bible study Wednesday evening. Several were absent. Bro. Tal Webb was in Ruston, La., in a revival. Lucy Glass spent Wednesday night with her sister, Mary Fern Overton, and Bro. Junior Loe was at the hospital with Ann.

One way to save face is to keep the lower part of it shut.
