Gurdon Little League baseball and softball sign-up will be Thurs., March 2, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Sat., March 4, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Gurdon Municipal building. For more information call Jimmy Hogue at 353-2916.


The Clark County Fair Association is having an all-you-can-eat chili supper Friday, March 3, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Senior Adult Center on the fairgrounds in Arkadelphia.

Tickets may be purchased from fair board members or call 246-7250 or 246-4825. Cost is $4 for adults and $2 for 12 and under. The proceeds go to the debt of the 4-H and FFA youth building. Take-outs will be available.


Rhonda L. Williams, Clark County Clerk, encourages any registered voter who has moved within Clark County and has not contacted the county clerk's office to make an address change to do so by calling 246-4491.


World Day of Prayer will be held at the Gurdon Presbyterian Church Friday, March 3, at 6:00 p.m. World Day of Prayer is an important part in Christian Living. On that day, people from all around the world will be meeting at churches and praying. Keep the chain going by joining in prayer for a better world.


A revival continues through tonight at First Assembly of God in Gurdon with Rev. Leland Burkett and family. Everyone is invited.


A revival will be held at Bethel A.M.E. Church featuring Rev. Herbert Adams. Services begin Wed., March 1, and will continue through Fri., March 3, 7:30 p.m.


Revival and homecoming for Centerpoint Baptist Church will begin Sunday morning, March 12, along with singing that afternoon at 1:30 p.m. with Bro. Phillip Taylor speaking. Each night of the revival will have a different speaker and will begin at 7:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome.


Revival will be held at New Caney Baptist Church, Highway 53 North March 6-8 at 7 p.m. Bro. Paul Sheets will be the evangelist.


Center Ridge Cemetery Assn. will meet March 13 at 2:00 p.m. at Center Grove Church. Those interested should be present.


Flea market at the Clark County Fairgrounds will be held May 6. It is sponsored by the Extension Homemakers Clubs. Inside and outside booths are now available, call 353-2616 or 246- 7845 for information on booth rentals.


The annual pastoral anniversary of Rev. Johnny C. Harris and family will be Sunday, Mar. 5, at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church. The church will have pre-anniversary musical gala on Feb. 27 to begin the celebration of his 14 years at Mt. Canaan.


The seventh annual Sawmill Days Festival will be Sat., April 22, in downtown Sparkman. Crafters, vendors and entertainers are needed. The pageant will be Sat., April 8, with eight age divisions. The city of Gurdon reminds residents the storm sirens are tested every Wednesday at 12:00 noon. Sirens are not tested during inclement weather.



Gurdon Lions Club is now able to begin collecting old eye glasses. The collection point in Gurdon is First Baptist Church or you can call Charles Shaver at 353-4640.

Old glasses are recycled by Lions International.


Gurdon Masonic Lodge 187 meets the first and third Tuesday of each month. All members are urged to attend.


Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion building, Highway 67 North, one mile out of Gurdon.
