Club NewsPublished Wednesday, February 23, 2000 in the Nevada County PicayuneRose Garden Club The Rose Garden Club met in the home of Flo Brackman on February 15 at 1:30 p.m. Evelyn Daniel was co-hostess. Betty Turner, president, presided over the business session. The group made plans to attend the Arkansas State Flower Show, which will be held at the Convention Center in Little Rock on February 25. Barbara Stewart presented a most interesting program on pruning shrubs. She stated that anytime there are scraggly branches on a shrub to cut them back some, but most shrubs should be pruned during February or March while they are still dormant. Following the program a discussion was held with the members sharing their experience with pruning, especially pertaining to gardenias. Several good reference books were brought to the attention of the club members. The hostesses served a delicious dessert using the Valentine theme. Spring arrangements of daffodils, japonica and pansies brought by Anice Ward, Betty Wingfield and Evelyn Daniel were placed around the living room for the members to enjoy.
