William M. 'Bill' Pratt

William M. 'Bill' Pratt, 87, of Prescott died Thursday, February 17, 2000, at Hillcrest Care and Rehab.

Mr. Pratt was born January 29, 1913, in Clark County to John Henry and Doshie Lough Pratt. He was retired from Bruner Ivory Handle Mill. Mr. Pratt was a Baptist and an U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include one brother, Leroy Pratt of Hope; one sister, Lealon Campbell of Hope; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday, February 19, at Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home Chapel in Prescott with Rev. Raymond Hicks officiating. Burial was in Bluff City Cemetery under the direction of Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.

Rory Scott Hufnagle

Rory Scott Hufnagle, 39, of Rosston died Wednesday night, February 16, 2000, from injuries in an automobile accident.

Mr. Hufnagle was born October 5, 1960, in Angola, Ind., and graduated from Coldwater High School in 1978. He was employed by Meyer's Bakery at Hope in the maintenance department.

Survivors include his wife, Marsha Rutherford Hufnagle of Rosston; one son, Ian Hufnagle of Rosston; a step-daughter, April Hubbard of Rosston; his parents, Jack and Virginia Hufnagel of Punta Gorda, Fla.; three brothers, Tony Hufnagel of Legionier, Ind., Vern Hufnagel of Punta Gorda, Fla., and Marty Hufnagle of Pottsbora, Texas; and two sisters, Peggy Hufnagle and Jill Waligora, both of Cold Water, Mich. He is also survived by his grandparents and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Sunday, February 19, at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps with the Rev. Billy Mack Russell and Rev. Joe Brown officiating. Burial was in Sardis Cemetery at Stamps under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Stamps.

Ellen B. Hamilton Miller

Ellen B. Hamilton Miller, 97, from Benton, formerly of Prescott, died Monday, February 14, 2000, at Benton Services Center.

Mrs. Miller was born December 7, 1902, in Faulkner County to Thomas Edward and Susie Robinson Hamilton. She was a housewife, mother and a member of the Church of Christ. She was married on December 26, 1917, to John I. Miller. They spent the following years in Faulkner and Nevada Counties. To them were born four children. After the death of her husband, John, who died in July 1961, Ellen moved to Benton to be near her daughter, Juanita. Then in 1987 she had to be placed in the nursing home. Until age 85, she was still mowing her own yard, working in her garden, had beautiful flower beds and did her own cooking and lived alone.

Survivors include one son, James O. Miller of Texarkana; three daughters, Ines M. Smithpeters of Okolona, Kathryn M. Hawkins of Greenville. S.C., and Juanita M. Pelton of Benton; 13 grandchildren, Jim Miller of St. Simon Island, Ga., Gary Miller of San Antonio, Texas, Ina S. Rogers of Arkadelphia, Ann S. Clark of Okolona, Dwight Smithpeters of Okolona, Karen Brown of Atlanta, Ga., Mark Hawkins of Greer, S.C., Lynne Hopkins of Greenville, S.C., Harold D. Pelton of Benton, Rex W. Pelton and C. Greg Pelton both of Benton, and Tom Pelton of Royal; 32 great grandchildren; and 10 great great grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Sunday, February 20, at DeAnn Cemetery in Prescott with Rev. Joe Miller officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.

Ola Flemons Hopson

Ola Flemons Hopson, 82, of Prescott died Friday, February 18, 2000, at Medical Park Hospital in Hope.

Mrs. Hopson was born June 5, 1917, in Sutton to Steve and Florene Jackson Flemons. She was a retired housekeeper of Nevada County Hospital and a member of Mt. Ephesus Baptist Church of Prescott. She was preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her husband, Oscar Hopson of Prescott; five sons, Steve Hopson and Odell Hopson both of Los Angeles, Calif., Hermon Hopson of Marino Valley, Calif., Homer Hopson of Waldo and Napoleon Hopson of Prescott; three daughters, Mary Spearman and Wanda Jones both of Prescott and Betty Howell of Cerritos, Calif.; and one brother, Willie Flemons of Prescott.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 22, at Mt. Ephesus Baptist Church in Prescott. Burial was in Laneburg Cemetery under the direction of Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.

Clyde McDade

Clyde McDade, 88, of Prescott passed away from this life on Sunday, February 20, 2000, at Medical Park Hospital in Hope.

Mr. McDade was born March 13, 1911, in Hempstead County to William Albert and Loutitia Ellender McDade. He was a general laborer with the State Highway Department. He was a Methodist.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel Rowe McDade; one brother, Watson 'Shorty' McDade of Prescott; six nieces; and five nephews.

Funeral services will be Wed., Feb. 23, in the chapel of Shackelford Funeral Home in Prescott with Rev. Joy Callicott officiating. Burial will be in Sweet Home Cemetery near Prescott under the directior of Shackelford Funeral Home of Prescott.
