In April of their senior year of high school most students have no idea what college classes they will take. They almost certainly have not registered for fall courses. However, Ouachita Baptist University will host an early registration (ER) on Saturday, April 17, for all students already accepted to attend the university in the fall.

Ouachita's ER gives high school seniors a chance to take one more worry out of attending college. By pre-registering for classes before they ever graduate from high school, students have one less thing to stress over as they begin the transition to becoming a college student.

Five hundred and eighteen students have been named to the President's List and Dean's List at Ouachita Baptist University for the 1999 fall semester.

To be named to the President's List at OBU, a student must compile a 4.00 (straight A) grade point average and be classified as a full-time student taking a minimum of 12 academic hours. Students making at least a 3.5 grade point average and up to a 4.00 average for the semester are placed on the Ouachita Dean's List, according to Dr. Mike Arrington, vice president for academic affairs.

Those students named to the President's List at Ouachita include: Andrew Mikeal Taylor andMeredith Lee Smith, both of Gurdon, and Melinda Anne McGough of Prescott.
