The officers and members of Lonoke Baptist Church will celebrate their pastor and his wife, Rev. and Mrs. Alvin Hunter, and family's sixth anniversary in Hope Sun,, Feb. 27, at 3:00 p.m. Everyone and all churches are welcome. The officers and members of Mt. Canaan Baptist Church of the city will be celebrating their pastor and his wife, Rev. and Mrs. Johnny C. A pre-musical gala will be held Feb. 27 at 6:00 p.m. to begin the celebration. Mr. Aaron Cook of Okolona passed away Sunday, but funeral arrangements are incomplete at this report. Mrs. Helen Burton's family held a fish fry Saturday in the home of her daughter, Jerine Hatley. Family present and sponsoring the meal were: daughter Jerine Hatley, son Fredrick Hatley, Winfred and Margert Burton, Marsha Hatley, Sheree Hendrix, Lola Hatley, Brad Hatley, Bernard Hatley, Rufus Hatley, Melvin Hatley, Vivian Rhinehart and other relatives and friends, including little Winfred Burton. Mrs. Burton has since returned home to Chicago, Ill. While here Mrs. Burton also visited with nieces Valree Smith and Laura Grigsley, her brother Joe Floyd and his wife, Hazel Welch, grandchildren, other relatives and friends in the Gurdon area.
