Baseball Registration OpensPublished Wednesday, February 23, 2000 in the Gurdon TimesIt's time once again for youngsters to sign up for baseball season. Those interested in playing baseball and softball this year need to sign up by March 2. The sign up will be from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. at the Gurdon City Hall, and again from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, March 4, also at City Hall. These will be the only chances players will get to sign up, said Jimmy Hogue, head of the Gurdon Baseball Association. Forms, though, will be sent to the schools to give children another chance to sign up for baseball season. For a child to play pee wee baseball or softball, he said, they must be five-years-old on or before Aug. 1, 2000. Those wanting to play need to bring their sign up forms, birth certificates and a playing fee of $30 per child. This fee must be paid when signing up.
