Gurdon Man Is Busted By GPD

A 19-year-old Gurdon man has been arrested on drug charges by the Gurdon Police Department.

Bobby Charles Jr. was arrested about 9:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, at the Sonic Drive-In.

According to David Childres, Gurdon City Marshal, officers were first investigating a terroristic threat charge against Charles from an incident at Gurdon High School earlier in the day.

Charles was later spotted at the Sonic. Officer Andy Williams noticed Charles put something under his truck and found a half-pint liquor bottle when he checked.

Williams, a new officer with the GPD, also saw a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana under the seat as well.

In all 15 individually wrapped bags of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana were found under the seat.

Charles was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and probation violation. He was on probation after breaking into GHS Principal Leonard Gills' home in 1998.
