Grady Runyan To Seek Judge's PostPublished Wednesday, February 16, 2000 in the Gurdon TimesFormer Clark County Judge Grady Runyan has announced he will seek the position again this year. "I have several reasons for making the announcement to run for Clark County Judge," he said in a prepared news release. "The greatest is my love for Clark County and its people. I want Clark County to be all it can be. "Having lived here my entire life gives me great pride and a burning desire to do more for my county," his statement continued. "I have tried retirement twice, and though I have enjoyed much of my time off, I would rather be contributing to our community. It is for this reason and others that I would like another opportunity to serve my county as Clark County Judge. "For a number of years before I ran for county judge the first time a great number of my friends had asked me, 'Why don't you run for the office of county judge?' My answer was always the same, "I would really love to, but Mr. Fisher is doing a great job for our county. Why would I want to run against him?'" He said in his statement that once again many people are calling him from all parts of the county, encouraging him to seek the office. "I feel as strongly as ever about our county. I want our county each small and large community to reach its fullest potential and be everything it can and deserves to be," he said in his statement. "I want to help Clark County reach this high plateau." He said this would be the first time he has had time to get out to really campaign and to see every person in the county. "I want to work for you. To me, a great job would be one that would give me another opportunity to make a positive difference in improving the lives and quality of life of every person in every square inch of Clark County," he said. "That's it. That's all I've ever wanted. After all, this is my county, too." Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
