College NewsPublished Wednesday, February 16, 2000 in the Gurdon TimesUniversity of Arkansas Community College at Hope is pleased to announce that Hanna Marion, a senior of Gurdon High School, has been awarded an technical scholarship. The scholarship is based on an ACT score and grade point average plus a recommendation from a school official. Marion is the daughter of Nancy Marion of Gurdon and will be pursuing a degree in the practical nursing program. Cassie Lynn of Okolona has been awarded an academic scholarship to attend the University of Arkansas at Monticello next fall. Lynn is a senior at Gurdon High school and she is the daughter of Henry and Vickie Lynn. Her high school activities include membership in the FBLA, FFA and the Beta Club. She is a majorette in the band and a member of the tennis and softball teams. The scholarship is awarded to students with ACT composite scores of 24 to 26 and includes tuition and fees for a maximum of eight semesters.
