Golden OldiesDoris VancePublished Wednesday, February 16, 2000 in the Gurdon Times What is the best kept secret in Gurdon? Our senior adult center at 410 East Main Street. Where else can you fellowship with your friends and enjoy a delicious lunch? We have many activities that keep us busy. Last week the 'Musicmakers' sang for Twin Rivers Rehab Center's residents. Jerry Don Childers' fourth graders sang for us Wednesday and again on Thursday for Rotary. Charlotte Shepherd drove some of the ladies for shopping in Hot Springs on Thursday. Those making the trip included Adell Tucker, Celia Acrey, Lottie Rogers, Florine Ursery, Gene Barton and myself. We enjoyed the square dancers on Friday. Monday, we crowned our Valentine's King and Queen on the 25th anniversary of the Gurdon Senior Adult Center. Other activities for the week will include the monthly council meeting, dine out evening and singing by Allen Wimberly and his wife. We look forward to many more activities this month. The center is a program of Central Arkansas Development Council and a United Way agency. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
