These 4-inch crappie were produced at the commission's Andrew Hulsey Fish Hatchery near Hot Springs. Gurdon Primary School's open house will be Sunday, February 27, from 12:30 to 3:00 p.m. The community is encouraged to attend. Gurdon Primary cafeteria will have a dinner of turkey and dressing dinner or a choice of stuffed crust pizza on Sunday from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. Take or dine in, tickets are available now at the primary cafeteria or at the door for $6. Gurdon Little League baseball and softball sign-up will be Thurs., March 2, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Sat., March 4, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Gurdon Municipal building. For more information call Jimmy Hogue at 353-2916. The seventh annual Sawmill Days Festival will be Sat., April 22, in downtown Sparkman. Crafters, vendors and entertainers are needed. First Church of God, Highway 67 South, invites everyone to a gospel singing Sat., Feb. 19, at 7:00 p.m. The featured group will be the Happy Days Singers. The annual pastoral anniversary of Rev. Johnny C. Harris and family will be Sunday, Mar. 5, at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church. The church will have pre-anniversary musical gala on Feb. 27 to begin the celebration of his 14 years at Mt. Canaan. Arkansas Rehabilitation Services will be holding sessions in Gurdon on Feb. 24 at the Gurdon Municipal Building from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. For information call 353-2514. The Clark County Extension office in Arkadelphia has a new look in a new building. Its new address is 501 Clay Street, in the former Department Human Services building, which held the courtroom for a while. The phone number remains the same 246-2281. The city of Gurdon reminds residents the storm sirens are tested every Wednesday at 12:00 noon. Sirens are not tested during inclement weather. Gurdon Lions Club is now able to begin collecting old eye glasses. The collection point in Gurdon is First Baptist Church or you can call Charles Shaver at 353-4640. Old glasses are recycled by Lions International. Gurdon Masonic Lodge 187 meets the first and third Tuesday of each month. All members are urged to attend. Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion building, Highway 67 North, one mile out of Gurdon. For more information, phone 353-4698.
