Challenges, Instructions Given To HIPPY StudentsPublished Wednesday, June 9, 1999 in the Gurdon TimesThe Home Instruction Program for Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) graduation program was held on May 13 in the former middle school auditorium. Program participants included Mercedes Woodley, who lead the Flag Pledge and Jordan Blanchard, who led the prayer. Jujuan Marks gave the welcome. Music was provided by the graduates and other HIPPY students. They sang the ABC song, Days of the Week and the Eensy Weensy Spider. A very challenging address was give by Mrs. Estelle Forte, a retired administrator of the Arkansas Human Development Center. Mrs. Forte told the graduates how to prepare for entering the public school. She stressed the importance of good attitudes, being a good listener and being obedient and respectful. Students receiving graduation certificates were James Sullivan, Chassidy Buford, Charles Holland, Kiara Giles, Felecia Fugitt, Tanesha Gillard, Sarah Huffman, Staci Johnson, Mercedes Woodley, Marshawn Arnold, Markieth Arnold, Arneisha Grice, Archantae Grice, Satrina Johnson, Jordan Blanchard, Tamera Sims and Kayla Hunter.
