Bro. Bruce Bennet of Sheridan performed the double ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of the late Cathy Clary Ellis of Prescott and Mr. and Mrs. Dan Ellis of Little Rock. She is the granddaughter of Joyce Oliver of Little Rock, Mr. and Mrs. Dearl Ellis of Laneburg and Mr. and Mrs. George Clary of Emmet. The bridegroom is the son of Linda Hervey of Little Rock and Mr. A.B. Hervey Jr. of Rogers. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. A.B. Hervey of Little Rock and the late Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Coffman of North Little Rock. The couple exchanged vows before an alter highlighted with two nine-foot Christmas trees decorated with tiny white lights and tulle carried by white doves. A gold Victorian harp, covered in garland and illuminated with ivory white candles stood in front of the room beside a two-foot angel. The angel, which was made by Charlene Koger, a friend of the bride, was placed in honor of the bride's late mother. The auditorium was decorated with burgundy and cream poinsettias. The pews held beautiful cream Christmas bows. Each window held a single candle. Nuptial music was played by guitarist Darrell Ford of Kinston, N.C., and vocalists Rhonda Grimes of Prescott and Donna Neece of Destin, Fla. Given in marriage by her brother and father, the bride wore an ivory and caf satin gown from Victoria's Collection. Her bodice featured a scoop neckline and off-the-shoulder sleeves accented with Alencon lace. Her princess a-line skirt fell from an empire waistline to a chapel- length train. She wore her mother's veil and the bridegroom's grandmother's pearl necklace. The bride carried a bouquet of three long stem white calla lilies. Inside her bouquet she carried a handkerchief, a gift from her step-mother. Mrs. Paul Calley of Benton, cousin of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Stacy Wilson of Conway, Mandie Armstrong of Fayetteville, niece of bridegroom; and McKenzie Ellis of Fayetteville, cousin of the bride. The attendants wore strapless straight formal-length gowns of black velvet with crimson taffeta wraps. Each attendant wore a diamond drop necklace, a present from the bride. Each girl carried clusters of dried red roses with baby's breath. Reagan Ellis of Fayetteville and Kenzee Calley of Benton, both cousins of the bride, were flower girls. Both girls wore ankle length satin dresses with wraps. Each carried a bouquet of baby's breath and wore a halo of baby's breath on their heads. Kurt Calley, cousin of the bride, of Benton served as ring bearer. Best man was Shane Golden of White Hall. Groomsmen were Sgt. Darrell Ford of Kinston, N.C., Sgt. Arbie Adkins of Keansville, N.C., and Keith Edwards of Little Rock. Marc Wake, of Conway, cousin of the bride, and Brad Phillips of Fayetteville seated the guests. Leaving the military wedding with the traditional "Welcome to the Marine Corps" followed by a swatting of the sword to the bride's backside, the bridegroom must ask permission for him and his bride to pass through the arched swords. A reception was held at the Fayetteville Hilton. The three-tiered wedding cake was the centerpiece of the reception. A Marine Corps figurine and bride, painted to resemble the bride and groom, adorned the top of the cake. Ten round guest tables clothed in white linen were decorated with gold and burgundy holiday wreaths centered with a burgundy candle. The bridegroom's table was adorned with Marine Corps memorabilia, including the bride's grandfather's uniform. Music and entertainment was provided by the band The Situation. Mrs. Joe Yager of Rogers, Mrs. Blake Holte of Lowell and Angela Franklin of Fayetteville provided hospitality. After a wedding trip to Moggie Valley, N.C., the couple will reside in Fayetteville. The couple's wedding was one of the few and last weddings that will be in Old Main. Their wedding was also selected for the High Profile section in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette of Northwest Arkansas. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
