RosstonPublished Wednesday, February 9, 2000 in the Nevada County PicayuneMarguerite Williams Church was well attended Sunday even though we still have some sick folks out. Guests were Jessica Carey and friends Cody Carlton and Tommy Ray Waters. I have been out about a month and so has Sue Dixon, but we were both able to be back Sunday. Lee and Ina Jarvis have both been in Medical Park Hospital in Hope for several days. Ina has been in ICU with a light heart attack. Ruth Vinson will enter St. Michael in Texarkana on Tuesday for surgery. Joyce Murphy of Willisville came home from Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, where she had been for a week. I visited with her on Thursday afternoon. Sherry Gibson is home from Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. All these people still need our prayers. Diane Evans, daughter of Jerry and Dot Evans, and granddaughter of Dail and Marjorie Evans, is visiting from San Jose, Calif., for a few days. The snow was beautiful, but very destructive. The handiworks of God just makes us feel a little closer to him. I was out of the house three times in three weeks. I felt like a couch potato with cabin fever. Roscoe and I went to Texarkana on Friday afternoon to visit with our great grandson, who is three months old now. We think he is the greatest. We had supper with them at the Ole Feed House. Roscoe and I were so glad to get out of the house that we had lunch with my brother and wife the Billy Schmitts in Hope on Thursday, then bought groceries and went back for supper. Union Hill will render a service in song on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Bodcaw Baptist Church. Jacob Greshan had his tonsils and adenoids out Monday in an El Dorado Hospital. He came home the same day. Good luck, Jacob, we will be praying for you. Jeff Hunt is home for 30 days after being away 30 days working on a boat. He got home in all the snow. Ozell Dillard of Hillcrest Care and Rehab in Prescott fell and broke her hip. We looked for her in Hope hospital, but guess she went on somewhere else. The nurses didn't know where. We wish her a speedy recovery. I loved her and Louie so much. They are good friends, almost like family. Roscoe and I attended our great granddaughter, Kathryne Rocole's, 6th birthday party on Saturday night at her grandparents home, the Jimmy Williamses in Prescott. Those present other than us were great grandparents, Bill and Maxine Freeman, Uncle Ricky, Aunt Vickie and Tamara Marlar and Uncle Jim and Aunt Tonda Pennington. We enjoyed a delicious spaghetti supper with lots of goodies, birthday cake and ice cream. She received many gifts. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
