CCYDC Summer Program BeginsPublished Wednesday, June 9, 1999 in the Gurdon TimesClark County Youth Development Center's summer recreation program began June 7 at 810 South Fifth Street in Gurdon. The program is offered from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily, Monday through Friday. The program will provide tutorial assistance in reading, math and language arts. Activities such as indoor and outdoor games, exercises (P.E.), arts and crafts, music appreciation, drama, nutrition and field trips will be provided. The program is for children ages five to 12. It is made possible through a grant with the Department of Human Services. Working parents or those enrolled in school may enroll their children in the program. Other participants who meet the eligibility required guidelines, based on income, are required to pay a daily fee in order to participate in the program. Applications are available at the center.
