How wonderful it is to be able to see the snow disappearing and to get out of the house.

The ones who celebrate birthdays were able to enjoy the cake donated by Thomason's Big Star. They were Henry Bell, Nell Gober, George Peeples, Lattie Rogers, Norman Hansen, Jewel Thurmond, Ann Boyce, Neil Horne, Grady Kimbrell, Roy Easley and Mamie Hammonds.

The month of February is Black History month. Martha Bearden has been sharing some of the prominent African-Americans with us. Beatrice Stafford shared the story of George Washington Carver with us. I was able to visit the plantation where he was raised several years ago, which is near Diamond Grove, Mo.

Next week the Musicmakers will sing at Twin Rivers for the residents. Jerry Don Childers will bring the fourth graders to sing for us. Some seniors will go shopping on Thursday. The square dancers will perform on Friday. The center is a program of Central Arkansas Development Council and a United Way agency.
