Under 6 years old eat free. Eastern Star Baptist Church youth will sponsor their fifth annual Valentine's program on Feb. 13 at 2:30 p.m. Special guests are Mt. Canaan and Mt. Zion youth. The theme will be 'Bring a Sweetheart to Church.'All churches invited to attend. The annual pastoral anniversary of Rev. Johnny C. Harris and family will be Sunday, Mar. 5, at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church. The church will have pre-anniversary musical gala on Feb. 27 to begin the celebration of his 14 years at Mt. Canaan. Revival is being held at First Assembly of God in Arkadelphia Feb. 13-16. Services will be Sun. at 10:45 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. and weekdays at 7:00 p.m. Evangelist Tony Burrow will be preaching with special singing. Hollywood Baptist Church is holding a singing Sun., Feb. 13, at 11:00 a.m. featuring the group, Design By Grace. New Caney Baptist Church girls' missionary auxiliary will be presenting a Valentine banquet on Sat., Feb. 12, at 6:30 p.m. The tickets are $4 per plate. Call 353-4654 or 353-2781 for tickets or carry out. The meal will include barbecue chicken and fixings. Women and girls of the Red River Baptist Association are invited to a 'Heart to Heart' brunch for mothers, daughters and friends. The special event will be at First Baptist Church in Arkadelphia on Saturday, February 12, at 10:00 a.m. Ladies and girls of the association are encouraged to come. There will be skits, music and missionary testimonies. Arkansas Rehabilitation Services will be holding sessions in Gurdon on Feb. 24 at the Gurdon Municipal Building from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. For information call 353-2514. The Clark County Extension office in Arkadelphia has a new look in a new building. Its new address is 501 Clay Street, in the former Department Human Services building, which held the courtroom for a while. The phone number remains the same 246-2281. The city of Gurdon reminds residents the storm sirens are tested every Wednesday at 12:00 noon. Sirens are not tested during inclement weather. Gurdon Lions Club is now able to begin collecting old eye glasses. The collection point in Gurdon is First Baptist Church or you can call Charles Shaver at 353-4640. Old glasses are recycled by Lions International. Gurdon Masonic Lodge 187 meets the first and third Tuesday of each month. All members are urged to attend. Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion building, Highway 67 North, one mile out of Gurdon. For more information, phone 353-4698.
