Woman's Group MeetsPublished Wednesday, February 9, 2000 in the Gurdon TimesThe Women of the Church of God met Monday, Jan. 24. Vivian Spruill was the hostess. She provided a wonderful dinner for the ladies. There were 10 members present. They were Thelma Mizell, Doris Vance, Eulah Wilson, Doris Eubanks, Shirley Smithpeters, Vivian Spruill, Janet Toland, Velvet Gonzales, Rhonda Spruill and Jeannie Burchfield. Following dinner Vivian presented the lesson entitled, 'The Heart of a Stranger.' It was a Bible study on refugees and global migration. Unless one is a native American, one is the son or daughter of refugees. Jesus himself was an exile as an infant. One needs to see refugees as persons living with their individual fears, whose own destinies have been ripped from their control. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
