Ross To Attend District's Fairs

State Senator Mike Ross of Prescott, candidate for the Democratic nomination for the United States Congress from the Fourth District, has announced plans to attend 26 fairs in 25 counties between now and October 1. All 25 counties are included in the Fourth Congressional District of Arkansas.

"I believe it is important to take my campaign directly to the people of the Fourth Congressional District and I cannot think of a better way to do that than to attend county fairs," Ross said.

"I want to get to know the people and I want them to get to know me. One of the best ways for me to learn about the issues important to people is for me to travel to their home counties and listen to their problems and concerns. I've done this as a state senator for the past nine years and I'm committed to doing this as a candidate for the U.S. Congress," Ross stated.

Ross started his county fair tour August 30 and has already attended the Union County Fair in El Dorado; the Nevada County Fair in Prescott, where he was the parade grand marshall; and the Ashley County Fair in Hamburg.

Listed below are the remaining fairs that Ross will attend during the next five weeks: Little River County Fair in Foreman, and Sevier County Fair in DeQueen on September 2; Desha County Fair in McGehee, September 4; Pike County Fair in Glenwood, September 7; Hot Spring County Fair in Malvern, September 8; Bradley County Fair in Warren, September 9; Miller County Fair in Fouke, September 10; Chicot County Fair in Eudora, September 11; Garland County Fair in Arkadelphia and Howard County fair, September 13; Howard County Fair in Nashville, September 14; Lincoln County Fair in Star City and Cleveland County Fair in Rison on September 15; Calhoun County Fair in Hampton and Ouachita County Fair in Camden on September 16; Lafayette County Fair in Lewisville and Columbia County Fair in Magnolia on September 17; Grant County Fair in Sheridan, September 20; Four States Fair in Texarkana, September 22; Drew County Fair in Monticello, September 23; Dallas County Fair in Fordyce, September 25; Jefferson County Fair in Pine Bluff, September 27; and Southwest District Fair in Hope on October 1.

Ross was elected to the state senate in 1990, representing Clark, Columbia, Nevada and Ouachita Counties.
