Oak GroveLula Q. KendrickPublished Wednesday, February 2, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune We have had plenty of snow here in Nevada County. I have never seen this much snow in my life. I have spent three days inside, because I couldn't get out. I stocked up on food and I made me some snow ice cream like we did a long time ago. We have had some bad weather here in Arkansas. There is a lot of sickness with the flu and so forth. Mrs. Girtie Blake has been in the hospital for nearly two weeks. She is a very sick person. I check on her almost everyday. Henry Staples went to Louisiana with his sister, Girtie Mae Staples. Mary Frances Vernell died in Rockford, Ill., last Monday. They had her funeral in Rockford Saturday. They will bring her body back to Harrison Chapel for burial Tuesday, February 2. She was the daugher of Harriett Sanders. Her brother is James Blakely. Her favorite Uncle is E.D. Sanders of Rosston. Oscar Young, formerly of Rosston, passed away Saturday in Camden. His funeral is not complete at this writing. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
