College NewsPublished Wednesday, February 2, 2000 in the Gurdon TimesHenderson State University has announced its list of students named to the honor roll for the fall semester 1999. To be named to the honor roll, students maintain a 3.5 grade point average (GPA) for the semester. Students from Gurdon named to the honor roll are Quincy Charles, a senior music-vocal major with a 3.69 GPA; Teri Dillard, a junior elementary education major with a 3.56 GPA; Monica Hatley, a junior mass media major with a 3.53 GPA; Christopher Roe, a senior nursing major with a 3.75 GPA; and Melanie Wilson, a senior English major with a 3.94 GPA. Graduate students making the honor roll from Gurdon were Lee Hendrix, a community counseling student with a fall semester GPA of 3.75. Clara Bailey, a senior physical education major from Curtis, was also on the honor roll with a 3.50 GPA. Also announced was the HSU dean's list for the fall semester of 1999. To make the dean's list, students must have a 4.0 GPA for the semester. Undergraduate students from Gurdon making the dean's list were Amanda Francis, a sophomore English major; Scott Horne, a senior chemistry major; Jason Plyler, a pre- baccalaureate non-major; and Kara Thomas, a sophomore music-vocal major.
