CaneyRuby WickerPublished Wednesday, January 26, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune This week will be a busy week in the community of Caney. The fourth Thursday singings will begin the 27th at Caney. Sunday the fifth Sunday fellowship will be the first of many in the year of 2000. This means morning service, potluck at the church and afternoon singing. Sunday evening service will be omitted. The Peters Family Singers of Kingsland, will be in our morning service this month with special music and again Sunday afternoon. We're looking forward to this event. The First Union Association Mission Rally will be Saturday evening at New Hope. Ya'll come. Dale McBride is still in grave condition in the veterans hospital in Little Rock. Wife, Betty, who is still battling effects of flu, visited him Friday. His daughter, Kathy Barham, visited him Sunday. Sunday visitors with J. W. and Maxine Glass were Liz Nunn, Shauntell Bennett and Payton, Tracy and Marsha Bennett, Steve, Deb and Cody Jackson, Barb Cornelius, Pat and Tim McCullough, Kevin, Pam, Clancy and Hannah Cleveland and Karen and Sarah Jobe. The Glass families and friends met at the Crossroads for supper Tuesday evening. Present were J.W., Maxine and Lucy Glass, Mary Fern, Gerald, Geraldine Overton, Mary Gail, Sherrill, James Hughes, Spoot and Helen Glass, Junior and Johnie Glass, Glenda Westmoreland and Charlie and ruth Garrett. All my children, Don and Janice Callicott, Cannon and Heather Callicott, Robert Callicott, Cyril, Phyllis, Brandon and April Stewart, and Amy, Emily, Chris and Denis Sweat, went to church with me Sunday in honor of my birthday. After church we all went to Janice and Don's for lunch and a nice visit. Christy Rhodes was sick Sunday and unable to be in church. Laverne Pruitt has been on the sick list.
