BodcawAline ClausPublished Wednesday, January 26, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune Happy Birthday to Alta Mullins. Her birthday was Monday, the 24th. We had a celebration on Sunday morning. She was 93 years young. She has been a member of Bodcaw #1 Church for 79 years. Her childrenQunten and Jeffe Mullins from Rondo, Terrel and Dean Mullins from Ft. Worth, Texas, William and Helen Mullins of Prescott and Mary and Jack Hinton of Perrytownwere all present in church. She received a plaque for her years of service. The Dorman sisters sang and Russ Carlton and Maryanna Dorman sang, How Great Thou Art.' She also received a beautiful plant from her family. She has been an inspirational to all. The Shewbirt family brothers and sisters got together recently at the home of Quida Williams. Those attending were Doyal and B.J. Shewbirt of Troup, Texas; Johnny and Ruth Shewbirt of Prescott; Billie and Doris Shewbirt of Bodcaw; and Archie and Pat Fraser of Bodcaw. There were plenty of food and visiting. A great time was had by all. Remember to pray for Johnny, as he is very ill. Kristy Melson, daughter of Debbie and Ronny Shewbirt, is still recovering from an auto accident that broke both her legs. She is not able to walk yet, but is doing fine. Mrs. Nettie Bowman was in church Sunday. She sang a song with Bro. Bowman. You can understand her singing better than talking. Mrs. Mary Morehead broke her hip. Remember her. Peggy Butler has been visiting his dad, Alvin Butler. Janice Porter had surgery in Little Rock. She was to come home over the weekend. Remember her.
