KendrickPublished Wednesday, January 26, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune The Magnolia District 213th year Founder's Day celebration of the African Methodist Episcopal Church and budget reporting will be held February 6 at 3 p.m. at New Bethel AME Church on Highway 200 in Rosston. Rev. Leslie Banks is the pastor and Rev. James H. Giles will be presiding. Rev. Banks preached a wonderful message Sunday. He preached on the valley of dry bones, Ezekiel 37. Our junior choir really did sing good. Girtie Blake is a very sick person. She is in the Medical Park Hospital in Hope. Pray for her. She needs our prayers. James Charles Young came to see his Aunt Girtie. Fredrick Gulley passed away in Rockford, Ill. He is the son of Rev. P. Gulley, formerly of Rosston. Sis. Artie Williams is also in Medical Park Hospital in Hope. She is still in ICU. Let's pray for her and her family. who stays by her side. Elder Kenneth Dwayne Tidwell will be installed at the Faith Temple COGIC at 814 West Avenue B. in Hope Sunday, January 30, at 4 p.m. The public is invited. Elder Tidwell is a Rosston native and a very nice person and a very Christian man. His grandmother brought him to church every Sunday. His grandmother was Mrs. Vira Tidwell of Rosston. Vera Purifoy went to Hope with me to visit with Mrs. Blake. She is our Eastern Star Sister. She is a cousin to me. She is the closest kin I have around Rosston. She lives alone. Her nephew Henry Junior lives to himself; he also is sick. He needs help. Her pastor visited her Saturday. May Francis Vernell passed away Monday in Rockford, Ill., formerly of Rosston.
