We Get LettersPublished Wednesday, January 26, 2000 in the Nevada County PicayuneDear Editor: This is to let other parents know of the danger in our Prescott Middle School gym. Last Thursday my daughter was injured and could have been killed due to a light fixture that fell from the ceiling and smashed into her head, requiring a number of stitches. How are our tax dollars being spent? The Prescott Middle School says they are not responsible. So who is responsible for the safety of our children while they are on school property and in the school buildings? Why can't some of the tax money be used for the upkeep of these buildings that our children depend on each day? Something needs to be done before a child is critically injured or worse, killed. All the school will tell me is, "I'm sorry that this happened." I'm sorry doesn't repair the damage done. GiGi Applegate Prescott Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
