Tired of being tired, overweight and out of shape?

Just want to tone the muscles a bit?

Or, maybe, you'd like to see just how good of physical condition you can get in.

No problem. Any or all of this can be accomplished at the new Prescott Fitness Center, located at 122 East Elm downtown.

The center's owner, Chad Cornelius, said it's a place where people can come, exercise, get fit and healthy.

At this time there are no personal trainers on staff, but the entire staff, Cornelius said, will soon be certified in this area. Still, the staff can help people develop a fitness program for toning, weight loss or body building.

The center has plenty of equipment for training, including machines from Paramount Fitness, one of the leaders in the field. There is literally a training machine for each and every body part.

And, for those who just want to pump iron, there is a full set of free weights and equipment on hand as well.

The equipment at the center includes cardio machines, treadmills, upright and recumbent cycles, stair steppers and elliptical trainers.

Cornelius opened the center earlier this month and has been pleasantly surprised with the response. The people of Prescott have been flocking in to try and get in shape.

Those wanting to join the center must sign a contract. The membership fees range from $27 per month for individuals, to $43 for a couple and $48.50 for a family plan with three or more people involved.

There are also group rate discounts available for area and local businesses and industries with at least 10 or more employees interested in joining.

The center is open from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 2-8 p.m. Sundays.

Cornelius said the center is fully staffed, with someone on hand at all times to help a person with their program.

In addition, the center has two tanning rooms available. Those interested in just tanning don't have to join to use the rooms.

Though the center has only recently opened, Cornelius has plans for its expansion already in mind.

In April, he said, an aerobics course will be added, while he's also working on adding a line of workout gear.
