Skeletal remains of a human body were found behind Prescott High School Sunday, Jan. 16.

According to Wayne Kisselburg, criminal investigator with the Nevada County Sheriff's Office, the body was found by an individual around 9 a.m.

The remains were gathered and sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab in Little Rock for identification.

Speculation is the remains if that of an elderly man who wandered away from the Beverly Care and Rehabilitation Center in 1995. This center is located close to Prescott High School.

The remains are believed to be those of Elbert Gamble, 80, but as the remains have not been fully identified, the actual identity of the person is not known.

However, Gamble's relatives have been contacted to help provide any information to prove or disprove the identity of the remains found.

No official announcement has been made concerning the identity of the remains.
