Meeting Set By AssociationPublished Wednesday, January 26, 2000 in the Gurdon TimesEnvironmental and forestry experts will explain how the EPA's proposed new TMDL (total maximum daily load) regulations are a dangerous threat to forest landowners, loggers and local jobs. These new regulations would require private landowners to obtain a federal permit before performing a management practice on their land such as harvesting, road construction or maintenance, weed control, plant, burning, etc, if the landowner is within the runoff area of a listed stream. This will be your opportunity to be heard by your elected congressman and senators who can help stop EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) from implementing these unnecessary government regulations. This meeting is sponsored by a grassroots coalition of landowners and other concerned with private property rights and local jobs.
