Al-Anon, for those affected by another's drinking, meets Thursday evenings at 8:00 in the church. For more information call 887-5991. A representative of the Texarkana Social Security office will be at the Nevada County Courthouse Thursday, January 27, Thursday, February 24, and Thursday, March 23. Supplemental security income (SSI) pays monthly checks to people who are aged, disabled or blind and who do not own much or have much income. SSI is not just for adults. To find out if you are eligible, call 1-800-772-1213. The Nevada County Fair board will meet Tuesday, January 18, at 7;00 p.m. at the Nevada County Fairgrounds. Anyone interested is welcome to attend. Christy Martin and Van White of Prescott are proud to announce the birth of their son, Kevin Riley White, born Friday, December 17, 1999. He weighed nine pounds and nine ounces and was 21= inches long. Grandparents are Charles and Judy Martin of Prescott, Van and Kay White of Prescott and Doren and Linda Lanseadale of Fresno, Calif.
