Geraldine Haynie

Geraldine Haynie, 64, of Hope died Mon., Jan. 10, 2000, at St. Michael's in Texarkana.

Mrs. Haynie was born Sept. 4, 1935, in Pittsburgh, Kan., to Lewis and Hazel Mae Simpson McCool. She was a retired school teacher and a member of the Hope Community Church. She was preceded in death by one son, David Haynie, in 1987 and brother, John McCool, in 1989.

Survivors include her loving husband of 45 years, George Howard Haynie of Hope; five sons and daughters-in-law, Howard and Sally Haynie of Allen, Texas, Gerald and Margie Haynie of Lamar, Jeff and Suzanne Haynie of Hope, Jim and Candy Haynie of Lamar and George and Billie Haynie of Prescott; four sisters, Bertha Linton of Wichita, Kan., Louise and Hollis Shaw of Hope, Pauline and Q.L Singleton of Springdale and Betty and Phil Phelps of Independence, Kan.; 15 grandchildren; and one step great grandchild.

Funeral services were held Thurs., Jan. 13, at Liberty Nazarene Church with Rev. Delmis Jones and Rev. Betty Ann Stinson officiating. Burial was in the Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Shackelford Funeral Home.
