Connie Lee Box's funeral was held Friday, December 31, at New Direction Baptist Church in Rockford, Ill., with Rev. Clarence Holman pastor. Connie was born in Chidester to Beasley Box and Addie Box. He married Brodie Gulley in 1944 and he was the father of eight children. He had one brother, Sidney Box of Rockford, Ill., one sister, Ollie Box Foreman of Saginaw, Mich. Connie and Sidney never missed stopping to see George and me. They were very nice young men. Sympathy goes out to the entire Box family.

Janet Smith went to Magnolia last week shopping. We stopped to have lunch and we saw C.N. Toney and his friend from Pine Bluff on their way to Rev. E. Gayland's funeral in Magnolia. We went to Hope the next day and visited the sick people, Jean Dansby and J.D. Stranger and others. Cora Simpson is in the nursing home in Prescott.

Otis Charles Coleman is having a beautiful house built in Rosston. It is almost finished. Welcome back to Rosston.

Velma Lupo spent two nights with her sister, Vera Purifoy. Her husband's aunt's funeral was Wednesday in Little Rock.

Lillie Gay Purifoy's funeral will be on Friday at 1 p.m. at Snow Hill Baptist church in Smackover. Williams Funeral Home of Camden is in charge. She was the 97-year-old mother of Rev. J.W. McCrow.
