Fair HillBarbara CorneliusPublished Wednesday, January 19, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune The year 2000 seems to be bringing all kinds of sadness. I hope and pray it will get better. This weekend Dillon Ridling from Broizia, Texas, came down to visit his dad and his family. While down he celebrated his 8th birthday with a party. Those celebrating with him were Greg Ridling, Lisa Kay from Waco, Texas, Nana, Dakota, T-bo Ridling, Mamaw Blevins, Uncle Dave and Aunt Kay Hendrix, John, Debbie and Jessie Henderson, Chad Glass, Buffie, Wesly, Lauren Robbins, Neal and Morgan Ridling, and Angie Jackson and Shalon. Everyone enjoyed chili dogs, cake and ice cream. After the party they took a trip to Dakota's house to see the clubhouse. Sorry to hear that Annie Lee Cornelius is going to have surgery Tuesday morning. I hope and pray that all goes well. I am sorry to have to write the news concerning the loss of loved ones. Delmar Tyree's sister, Geraldine Haynie has passed away. Charles Stuart passed away Sunday of last week. The funeral services were Tuesday. Nell Husky, a dear friend of mine, passed away Monday of last week. The funeral services were Wednesday. Julie Huntley returned home Friday afternoon after a two-week stay at Fort McCoy, Wis. Deb and Cody Jackson had supper with us Monday night. Steve was going to come, but he had to help work on a truck. He had to get a carry out. Patricia Kirkham was really looking forward to getting some things done while having four days off from school. Her plans were interrupted by the ol' flu bug. She is feeling a lot better. Lenora McWilliams has had the flu. I heard she was playing a good mother role with other family members. I guess the flu followed her home. Steve and Deb Jackson, Tom and I made a trip to Natchitoches, La., Sunday afternoon to deliver my son, Tony Overton, his truck. Ronnie and Diane Collins from Clarksville visited Saturday with his mother, Ruby, and Thomas Fontaine. My son, Aaron Morton, and I had Sunday dinner with J.W. and Maxine Glass. Aaron spent the night with Pat McCullough and kids. Did you make a new year's resolution? Best of luck in the year 2000. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
