Our activity director has really been doing a wonderful job keeping activities for the senior adults.

Ben Medcalf called bingo Monday. The Musicmakers sang for the Twin Rivers Rehab residents on Tuesday. We had a magazine scavenger hunt on Tuesday also. There was a special singing on Wednesday. Several couples square danced on Friday.

It's time to choose our Valentine King and Queen. Those running are Joyce and Doug Quillen, Reva and J.W. Wingfield and Birdie Quarles and Joe Welch.

Valentine's Day will also be the anniversary of the Gurdon Senior Adult Center. It has been in existence since 1975, and there have been countless numbers of people who have benefitted from this program. Some people who can't come out, are still able to enjoy one good meal a day. We have many who are homebound and are unable to prepare their own meals.

A donation has been given to the center in honor of Harrel and Geneva Everitt by their son, Tom Everitt.

Tuesday, there will be a council meeting. Bro. Glen Shults will sing for us Wednesday. We will have a ring toss game on Thursday.

We are very proud of our center in Gurdon, and the benefits it has for we older people.

I am 77 years old and it has been a blessing for me. I would not have been able to cope with the death of my husband and health problems if I hadn't gotten involved in volunteer work and visiting with my friends. We would love for all 60 or over to come and join us.

The center is a program of Central Arkansas Development Council and a United Way agency.
