The baseball and softball boosters will be meeting Jan. 27 at 7:00 p.m. All participants' parents are encouraged to attend. The meeting will be held in the Gurdon Municipal Building.

The board of directors of Central Arkansas Development Council will meet Mon., Jan. 24, at 7:00 p.m. at the Malvern Senior Adult Center, 836 Acme St. in Malvern. Interested persons are invited to attend.

First Assembly of God in Gurdon will kick-off the year 2000 with a revival. Tim Sallee, evangelist of Fayetteville, will be preaching Sun., Jan. 23 through Wed., Jan. 26. Sunday revival service begins at 6:00 p.m. Each week night service begins at 7:00.

Shady Grove Baptist Church of Prescott will be having a super Saturday supper January 29. Takeouts are available and tickets are available at the door.

The board of directors of the Southwest Central Regional Solid Waste Management District will meet today (Wednesday) at 10:00 a.m. at the offices of West Central Arkansas Planning and Development District in Hot Springs.

The Arkansas Rehabilitation Services will be holding sessions on January 27 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Gurdon Municipal building. Call 353-2514 for an appointment.

The city of Gurdon reminds residents the storm sirens are tested every Wednesday at 12:00 noon. Sirens are not tested during inclement weather.

Gurdon Lions Club is now able to begin collecting old eye glasses. The collection point in Gurdon is First Baptist Church or you can call Charles Shaver at 353-4640.

Old glasses are recycled by Lions International.

Gurdon Masonic Lodge 187 meets the first and third Tuesday of each month. All members are urged to attend.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion building, Highway 67 North, one mile out of Gurdon.
