Supplemental security income (SSI) pays monthly checks to people who are aged, disabled or blind and who do not own much or have much income. SSI is not just for adults. An appreciation service for evangelist MaDonna Haynes will be held on Saturday, January 15, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, January 16, at 3:00 p.m. at the Fair Park Community Center in Hope. There will local groups and choirs performing. The special guests on Saturday will be The Revelators of Camden and The Mighty Jordanairs of El Dorado. On Sunday, apostle Dennis Cook and the New Life Outreach Ministry of Lewisville will be special guests. Everyone is invited. A retirement reception will be held for George Darrell Glass Thursday, January, 13 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the chamber office. Glass has worked for the city of Prescott for over 30 years. The reception is being sponsored jointly by the city and the chamber. Christopher and Tracy Hicks of Rosston are proud to announce the birth of their son, Caney Monroe, born Sunday, January 2, 2000. He weighed five pounds and was 18+ inches long. Grandparents are Bobby and Carolyn Hicks and Kenny and Judy Atchley. The DeAnne Cemetery Association will have its annual meeting on Tuesday, January 18, at 7:00 p.m. at the Nevada County Courthouse. All those having interest in the cemetery are encouraged to attend. Lakenya Thomas of Okolona and Dedxic Jones of Delight are proud to announce the birth of their son, Malik Roshawn Jones, on Thursday, January 6, 2000. He weighed seven pounds and was 19+ inches long.
