Rev. T.W. McGraw officiated. To cherish her memories are five sisters, four brothers, special nephews, a special niece, Shaquita Gulley, two aunts, and a special friend. Annual men's day program at Oak Grove Baptist Church will be February 6. Rev. Bobby Young is the pastor. Guest pastor will be Rev. J.C. Owens. Guest church will be Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Willisville. All churches are invited. Young Circuit and Rev. Banks invite you to Ward Chapel next Sunday at 3 p.m. for its stewardship program. Rev. C. Dansby will bring the message. Our quarterly conference will be held the first Sunday in February at New Salem AME Church that afternoon at 3:00. There will be a founder's day program here at Bethel that will be presented by the Magnolia District. Let's pray for our sick and shut in: Bro. Ira J. Tidwell, Bro. Hershie Young and Bro. Artie V. Tidwell. Bracy Yarbrough had a stroke last Friday. He is still in the hospital in Camden. Janet Smith's son was home last week from the Navy. He has not been home in two years. I am sure she was proud to see her son. I did not get a chance to see him. Mrs. Vera Purifoy spent the Christmas and New Year holidays with her sister and brother- in-law, Lupo. I have not seen her yet. I talked to her by phone last week. Let's pray for Sis. L. Burse; her father is not doing good. She really sees about her father. Since we have reached the final year of the century I hoped the Lord looked back upon the past year with a spirit of thankfulness. Let us recall how you have watched over us and blessed us in the ways both great and small and for gifts you have given us during the past year. Mae Francis Burnell is not doing well at all. Her brother, James, went to be by her bedside. Let's pray for her family. Cora Simpson is back in the hospital in Hope. Sis. Johnnie Marsh spent Christmas with her children in Dallas, Texas. She was missed very much. She was back in church Sunday. She is a wonderful person and a very good cook. Freddie Dixon was down last week and his wife came to check on us. James Charles was home last week to check on his Aunt Girtie. She is not doing well lately. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
