CaneyRuby WickerPublished Wednesday, January 12, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune Loyce and Florence have been on the sick list. Loyce is still in the hospital. Florence suffered burns on her face, trying to light her furnace. Janet Hammon had back surgery Thursday. Margaret Tomlin of Bluff City visited me Tuesday of last week. Don Callicott had a stress test in Little Rock Thursday. It turned out negative. Margie Reed, Glenda Westmoreland, Nadene Brown and I attended the Francis Custom Tours luncheon in Arkadelphia Friday. Several other Nevada County residents attended also. Heather Callicott spent Thursday with her grandfather, Johnnie Shewbirt, who is still in a Little Rock hospital. Dale McBride also entered a hospital in Little Rock Friday. He has emphysema and other complications. He has been in intensive care. His wife, Betty, has also been on the sick list for two or three weeks. Suzanne Cross had surgery a few days ago. She is home now, but taking it easy for a while. I visited with my sister, Pauline Blevins, of Nubbin Hill Sunday afternoon. Sam, Jane and Sarah Bradshaw of Camden visited Jane's parents, Bro. Junior and Ann Loe. J.D. Luck was on the sick list last week. Marsha Rhodes was also on the sick list with a bronchial infection. Bro. Raymond Hicks has also had the flu. He was to have gone back to the doctor Tuesday. Gary Lee Hicks is also having a series of test made. Laverne Pruitt has had flu-like symptoms and has been pretty sick. The nice part about living in a small town is that when I don't know what I'm doing, someone else does. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
