Ruth C. Young, 85, of Malvern died Saturday, January 1, 2000, in Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.

Mrs. Young was born February 14, 1914, in Prescott to John Montgomery and Anna Helena Monson Carrington. She was reared and educated in Prescott. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Malvern, the P.E.O., and the First United Methodist Church Women's Circle. She was a homemaker and the widow of Tom Ross Young, who died in 1975. They were married on March 14, 1941, in Prescott. Mrs. Young was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Cummings, Thalia Fore and Forrest Davis ,all of Prescott.

Survivors include three sons and their wives, Tom R. 'Tommy' and Judy E. Young of Malvern; Cary E. and Pamela King of Pine Bluff and Robert G. and Judy S. Young of Benton; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Funeral services were held Monday, January 3, in the sanctuary of First United Methodist in Malvern with Rev. Roy P. Smith officiating. Burial was in Shadowlawn Cemetery in Malvern under the direction of Regency Funeral Home of Malvern.

Pallbearers were Rob Young, Ross Young, Will Young, Paul Young Jr., Jim Davis and Damon McKelvy.
