Vada T. Glass Mathis

Vada T. Glass Mathis, 85, of Cale died Saturday, January 1, 2000, at her home.

Mrs. Mathis was born September 15, 1914, in Laneburg to Jim and Anna Godwin Glass. She was a retired owner/operator of the Mathis Store in Cale. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Cale and a member of the Double 'C' Extension Homemakers Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Erbert Mathis, who died in 1989.

Survivors include two daughters, Erma Jean Martin of Cale and Dorothy Milburn of Greenbrier; one brother, Frank Glass of Caney; and four grandchildren, Vickie Price of Midland, Texas, Kim Peterson of San Angelo, Texas, Becky Ison of Greenbrier and James Milburn of Little Rock; seven grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

Funeral services were held Monday, January 3, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Cale with Rev. Raymond Hicks officiating. Burial was in Friendship Cemetery in Cale under the direction of Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.
